I have always loved period movies. I recently watched Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone,Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, and I must say, the movie took me to a magical journey, witnessing how love can start wars. It was so Helen of Troy-ish, the face that launched a thousand ships, isn’t it? Watch the trailer here:
Some of my friends told me there was much resistance in this movie because of how it was told. The set/location is unbelievable, the costume design is beyond compare, the intricacy of every dress and jewelry.. seriously! I would’ve loved to be born in that area just for the dresses alone lol.
And to wrap it all up, the music is beautiful. It makes me sad that I can no longer add an audio playlist here, but hey, I’ve linked it to my google drive so that you all can still listen to it. Happy downloading!
Being a nurse by profession, I have always loved medicine-related TV shows. I used to be addicted by Grey’s Anatomy. But after Derek died, it feels like it all went downhill after that. I have seen them grow old right before my eyes – 14 seasons! Wow!
Then after that was The Good Doctor. I think I saw a Korean TV series like that, though I don’t know if it was lifted from that or just similar all together.
Then this – The Resident. If you’re wondering where you saw the Indian doctor, that’s Manish Dayal, the guy from Viceroy’s House. All the other leading actors have already been seen in previous TV series.
It’s the usual work-related and relationship drama peppered by medical cases they’re trying to solve. Nothing new.
This is probably one of my most favorite series ever. At first I thought I might not enjoy it, it being probably teeny-bopper themed, but I was wrong. And although no matter how I prayed (lol I know) that Hannah didn’t kill herself, I understood that it was an integral part of where the story revolves in the first place.
I really wish that more teens would watch this series. It’s sensitive and very timely, in a world where fitting in gets harder everyday. It reminds me of my highschool years. I was happy, I was with good friends who were both engrossed in school, as well as friendship. We were actually doing well in school, and slaying the social scene. We were like popular nerds, if you will lol. Well, enough about me.
The music selection is as beautiful and as intuitive as the series. Listen to a few of my favorites:

I’ve always believed that when it comes to music, you don’t really need to understand the words, you just need to feel it. So yeah, I do not understand Hindi. But when I first heard Baarish, which is the first track in this playlist, it tugged at my heart strings.
Hoping I’d be able to find a copy of the movie with english subtitles. Soon!

If there was a movie I’ve been so excited to see in a long while, it’s Wonder Woman. I’ve loved Gal Gadot ever since I saw her in Fast & Furious. She has this exotic, foreigner beauty that just pulls me!
I’m surprised that its just recently that people came up with a Wonder Woman origin story. There has been movies and series devoted to the other Justice League characters, but not her. I remember watching Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman when I was a kid. Lol yes I am that old! She had the most tantalizing eyes. I’m sure Gal Gadot felt the pressure to live up to her shoes, but she did it well.
